When I was around 6 months pregnant with my son, my husband and I took a spring time trip to the zoo. With spring being my favorite season and the zoo being one of my favorite destinations, especially for taking lots of photos, it was a perfect day.
The weather was wonderful and we snapped photos of the animals playing, lounging, eating, hanging out, and photos of each other. We had a picnic lunch under a big blooming tree and later took a ride on the train.
However, all day long there was one thing nagging at the back of my mind. Everyone kept asking me, how are you decorating the baby’s room? Then I would get all sorts of suggestions. We knew we were having a boy, so I would hear how about sports, how about teddy bears, how about Sesame Street, how about Noah’s Ark. What I really longed for was a different decorating idea, never done before. Plus, I wanted to do something in the nursery that could carry onto his big boy bedroom, to save money on decorating, for a few years anyway.
Well, I decided that since I loved photos and the zoo so much, why not incorporate the two ideas together. I didn’t just want framed photos though, I wanted to go big. Since I am not the most creative person in the world, I went home and started searching online for photo ideas. That’s when I came across a fantastic site called www.ipixxl.com. This site was able to turn my photos into larger than life sized photos that I could stick directly onto the walls. The photo stickers were also movable if the decorating needed updating.
Now my son has a fantastic bedroom that looks like a day at the zoo with giant sticker photos of giraffes, penguins, lions, tigers, and monkeys. Maybe one day he can pick his favorite animals and we can update the giant photo stickers!
